20 Weeks - Baby #2

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 20 weeks - Half-way!

Size of baby: Length is about 6.5 inches and weighs about 10.6 ounces (around the size of a cantaloupe)

Gender: Girl!  Natalie Raines

Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothes

Weight gain: Around 10 lbs total

Movement: Feeling movement and kicking daily - at first I thought this little girl was less active than Wesley, but I was wrong!  She's been moving like crazy this week. 

Sleep: Sleeping great - alternate between sleeping on my side and my back at night, but I've been sleeping all night lately.

Symptoms: Feeling good overall, just tired and hungry all the time!

Cravings: Mexican food - specifically cheese dip and salsa

What I miss: Having a margarita with Mexican food - mmmmm.

Best moment this week: Probably just all the excitement surrounding our announcement of the gender, and buying my first 'pink' outfits!  We are working with Wesley on learning to say 'Natalie' :)

19 Weeks - Baby #2

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 19 weeks

Size of baby: Length is about 6 inches and weighs about 8.5 ounces (around the size of a mango)
Gender: We found out on Friday that baby Runnells #2 is a GIRL!!!  I'm still in shock that I get to buy pink!!
Maternity Clothes: It's official - all maternity clothes.  I LOVE full panel pants, and have taken 4 pair of my low panel/half panel dress pants to a seamstress to have a full panel put in.  The low panel/half panel just sits in a weird spot on my stomach and is uncomfortable.
Weight gain: Around 10 lbs total
Movement: Feeling movement and kicking daily.  I tried to roll on my stomach the other night (seemed like a good idea at the time), and she wouldn't quit kicking!  Guess there will be no more of that.
Sleep: Sleeping fairly well - I try to sleep on my side, but always end up on my back.  I will say I slept on my back until the end with Wesley, and didn't have any issues. 
Symptoms: Feeling good overall, although my headaches have come back this week.  And I think I'm starting to waddle a little bit :(
Cravings: Red Lobster - and cupcakes.
What I miss: Being able to play with Wesley like normal - its harder for me to get up and down off the floor, and just have the energy to keep up with a 2 year old!
Best moment this week: Our ultrasound on Friday!  Finding out that the baby is measuring perfectly, is healthy (thank you Jesus!), and that SHE is a GIRL!!!

18 Weeks - Baby #2

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 18 weeks

Size of baby: Length is about 5.6 inches and weighs about 6.7 ounces (around the size of a sweet potato)
Gender: I'm sticking with boy - I've had a couple of dreams that the baby is a boy this week.  Everyone else still says girl, but I'm sticking to blue until I'm proven wrong on January 27th :)
Maternity Clothes: All maternity pants/jeans/tops - I can still wear a few normal tops (not for long though).  I'm really liking my leggings these days!
Weight gain: Around 7-8 lbs total
Movement: Feeling movement along with kicking.  It is not consistent, but I feel it daily now.
Sleep: Sleeping fairly well - I try to sleep on my side, but always end up on my back.  I'm thinking I might buy just a cheap body pillow to see if that will help me stay put.
Symptoms: Tired, but feeling good overall.  It is getting harder to bend over, and to get up and down!
Cravings: Grapefruit!  Wesley loves it too.
What I miss: Sushi!  And medium rare steak with red wine.  Both sound really good right now!
Best moment this week: I realized that I'm close to halfway though this pregnancy already!  This one has gone so much faster than with Wesley, mostly because I have him to keep me busy :)  I'm so thankful that we are able to have children, and that our kids will grow up with siblings.

17 Weeks - Baby #2

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 weeks

Size of baby: Length is about 5.1 inches and weighs about 5.9 ounces (around the size of an onion)
Gender: I asked Wesley if there was a baby boy or a baby girl in my tummy, and he said baby girl - so then I asked if he was having a baby sister or baby brother, and he said baby sister!  Maybe he knows something we don't....
Maternity Clothes: All maternity pants/jeans/tops - I can still wear a few normal tops (not for long though).  I feel like I've gotten bigger faster with this pregnancy, which I've heard is pretty normal with #2.
Weight gain: Around 7-8 lbs total
Movement: Feeling some movement, mostly when I am very still or have just eaten something - I've only felt a few small kicks here and there so far.  With Wesley, all I remember were the kicks.  With this one, its more like the baby is rolling around.

Sleep: Sleeping OK - I've been waking up in the middle of the night randomly, then am not able to fall back asleep easily.  We also just got a new mattress for our bed, so I've been getting used to that this week.
Symptoms: Still feeling pretty good overall - I'm tired by the end of the day (at a desk job mind you), but I was like that before I was pregnant!  I find that on the weekends I can't do as much around the house/project-wise as I used to, I just get so worn out.
Cravings: Everything bagels with veggie cream cheese
What I miss: Real coffee!  I don't remember missing it so much last time, but this time I really wish I could have some good, strong flavored coffee with lots of cream and sugar!  The decaf just isn't cutting it.
Best moment this week: Asking Wesley about the baby - and his responses! I think he might be coming to understand more and more that there is a baby on the way.  We have been trying to talk to him about it and include him as much as we can so he'll be as excited as we are about our new addition!  We are so excited to see him as a big brother.

Happy 2nd Birthday Wesley!!

(This post is late late late!  But, it looks like I was just this untimely with his 1st birthday post - there is just so much going on this time of year!  And did I mention I'm pregnant and can't remember anything?  Geez.)

Wesley turned 2 on December 18th!!  I can't believe my baby is now a big two year old boy.  We had his birthday at a local bounce house called Boingo Bounce, and his grandparents took some great pictures to document the event.  All of his grandparents, cousins, and even great grandparents came up to celebrate along with with all of Wesley's friends!  He is one lucky, loved little guy.
