Now THAT was a fun Saturday

You can always tell you've had a great day when your toddler is completely worn out :)

This past Saturday we celebrated my friend Courtney's son Max's 2nd birthday at Boingo Bounce.  I wish we had known about this place sooner!  All of the kids loved it - Wesley was a bit shy at first, but once he realized how much fun it was to bounce he was all over the place!

After nap time that afternoon, we went to Wesley's preschool open house.  The new school year has started, so Wesley will be moving up to a new classroom.  We got to meet his new teacher as well as other families that attend the preschool, all while playing in the sprinkler and bouncy castles!

Cousin's Reunion 2011

Every year Corey's side of the family gets together for what we call the 'Cousin's Reunion'.  It is basically Corey's maternal grandmother and her siblings (4 in all), all of their kids (Corey's mom and her cousins), and all of their kids (Corey & the 2nd cousins).  In the past 6 years since I've been part of the family, we've gone to Lake Hamilton and to Branson, but this year we all gathered at Mountain Harbor on Lake Ouachita.  The family has spent time there and has many memories on that lake, so it was the perfect location.  We had such a great time this year, and are already looking forward to next year!

Our group made it on the entrance sign!

20 Months!

Our big boy is 20 months old today - I can't believe in just 4 short months I will have a 2 year old!

Wesley stats:
  • Head Circumference - 19.75 in (90%)
  • Weight - 29 lbs (70%)
  • Length -  34 in (70%)
  • Clothes - 2T in clothes/PJs and size 6/7 shoes
  • Food - Using a fork and a spoon fairly regularly and we've now added a plate/bowl since he's learned not to throw food on the floor - for the most part :)  And I'm proud to say we are no longer using bottles, even at nap time/bed time.  All milk/juice/water is in a sippy cup!
  • Sleep - Sleeping like a champ!  Makes mommy and daddy very happy :)
  • Talents/interests - We discovered water wings this month at the lake, and now we have a little fish on our hands!  His life jacket and puddle jumper were both too bulky when we would try them in the pool, but he seems to be able to maneuver much better with just the water wings.  In fact, he was so brave with them this past weekend that he was jumping off the back of the boat into the lake!  I've set up an activity table in our sunroom with books, puzzles, coloring books, and flash cards, and Wesley love to spend time there!  He's still very much into bouncy balls and cars, and of course Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!  We recently bought a DVD player for the car (in preparation for our Florida vacation in September) and it's been a lifesaver for the last couple of trips we've taken to visit family.
You continue to bring so much joy and love to our family with each passing day!
