14 Months!

Our little man is 14 months old today!  It seem like time has just flown by, especially these last couple of months since his first birthday - I hope it slows down soon!!!

Wesley stats:
  • Head Circumference -19.5 in (90%)
  • Weight - 24.6 lbs (60%)
  • Length - 32 in (80%)
  • Clothes - 18 months in everything - about to have to move up to 24 month sleepers and some pants.  Its also time to buy him some real shoes - I think he's probably a size 5.
  • Food - Anything he can get his hands on!  He's a big fan of tortillas right now - probably b/c we can just hand him one and he'll carry it around and take bites.  He always wants a bite of what we have and says 'bi bi' (bite bite).  I tried a green olive on him today and he loved it!  Definitely his momma's child :)
  • Sleep - Sleeping though the night - occasionally we will hear him cry for a minute or two during the night, but then he will go on back to sleep.
  • Talents/interests - Climbing!!  He likes to get up on our coffee table or use his toys to stand on to reach things.  He is also into exploring - he wants to open drawers and cabinet doors and find 'treasures' - not always things we want him to have!  He will sometimes leave things in drawers he has opened - I've found blocks and cars in several of my kitchen and bathroom drawers lately.  A few 'words' we recognize that he says:  Da (daddy), momma, tis (this), ba (bath or ball, depending on what we are doing), bi (bite), ma (milk), mmmmmm (when eating), and uh oh - he also has gotten very close to saying teeth, cookie, and Baylee.
 Love you little bubba!!

Valentine's Day 2011

Not too big of an event around our house, but I did put Wesley in a cute shirt for school since they were having a 'party' in his class.  I found it at a local resale shop over the weekend for $1.50 - it says 'Hunk of Burning Love' - too cute!

I also made the Valentine's Day cards for the other babies in Wesley's class at school - not too big of a deal this year since there are only 7 other kiddos - I could see this getting out of hand when he is older though!

Hope everyone had a Happy Valentines Day!

I mean seriously?!?

I guess on Wednesday the snow machine was on the fritz - we ended up with 18 inches of snow at our house!  By far the most snow I've ever seen in my life - it was unreal.  Most of it is still on the ground, but its supposed to warm up this weekend and melt.

DIY Valentine Wreath

While we were stuck in the house over the weekend because of the snow, I decided to try out a wreath project I had seen on several other blogs.  I think it turned out really cute!  You could do this for any holiday coming up - St Patrick's Day, Fat Tuesday, Easter - it would also be a great decoration for a baby shower.

I started out with 4 yards of tulle I bought from Hobby Lobby (I used 1.5 yards of pink and red, and 1 yard of white), some Valentine ribbon, a Valentine decoration for the middle, and a floral wreath (which I had to spray paint white - it was green) - you could also use a foam ring, but HL was out of them when I went

I cut the tulle into 12-13 inch pieces
And then I just started tying double knots around the floral wreath

Once I was finished tying the tulle, I positioned my Valentine decoration in the middle of the wreath where I wanted it and hot glued it to two pieces of ribbon.  Then I glued the two pieces of ribbon to the back of the wreath
Finished product
Hung on the front door!

Snow, snow, and more snow!

Well, since my last post we've had two winter storms come through Northwest Arkasas!  That is two storms in one week - and whats coming tonight?  Thats right - another winter storm brining anywhere from 4-10 in of snow!  I think Old Man Winter has it in for us this year :)  I got Wesley out in it briefly over the weekend just to take some pictures - he wasn't too sure what to think.  Next year when he's a little older I'm sure he'll be begging to go outside!  For the most part we just hung out and tried to stay warm as we enjoyed our snow days :)

Hopefully the storm coming though tonight won't be that bad!  Counting down the days until springtime and warmer weather for sure :)
